Doctrinal Statement

Doctrines are the principles, tenets, teachings and instructions that constitute the basic beliefs of a person or an organization. The doctrines of this ecclesiastical nonprofit corporation are the foundation of our Christian fellowship, and they are the sum total of the Holy Scriptures, the corporation’s organizing and governing legal documents, the Statement of Faith and Doctrine and the following:

The Bible̶ the Holy Scriptures are the source of our doctrine.

- All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
(2 Timothy 3:10-17, 4:1-5)

- Jesus said, My doctrine is not Mine, but His (God the Father) who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on my own authority.
(John 7:16-18)

1. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the infallible Word of God, and the source and rule of all our faith and practice. (Romans 15:5; Psalm 19:7-13, 119:89, 105) They have been given to lead us to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. They are the fully inspired words of God and, therefore, serve as an authoritative guide for Christian understanding, life and ministry. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Matthew 24:35) The Scriptures should not be added to, superseded or changed by later tradition or supposed revelation. (Isaiah 8:20; Galatians 1:8-9) Every doctrinal formulation, whether of creed, confession or theology, must be put to the test of the full counsel of God’s Holy Word. (Matthew 22:29-33; Ephesians 2:20; Acts 28:23) All understanding of the Scriptures is dependent upon the revelation of the Holy Spirit; therefore, accurate, factual knowledge of the Word is attained only through spiritual comprehension brought about by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:7-16; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
2. God is Triune. There is but one God; infinite, eternal and almighty, perfect in holiness, truth and love. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:5-6; Genesis 1:26; 1 John 5:7-8) In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-existent, co-equal and co-eternal. (Matthew 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 13:14) The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Spirit, yet each is true deity. Acknowledging that there is only one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the foundation of the Christian faith and life. (John 14:9-20, 23; 15:26; 26:13-15)
3. The creation of all through the Godhead. (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 11:3; Psalm 33:9) By His Word, all things were made, and through the same word, He daily sustains all His creations. (John 1:3, 10; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:2-3) He is faithful to every promise. He works all things together for our good when we love Him and follow after His Spirit. He has provided grace through His Son, Jesus Christ, for all of mankind. (Psalm 147:13; Romans 8:28; John 3:16) He made man for fellowship with Himself, and intended that all creation should live to praise His glory. (Romans 11:36; Revelations 4:11)
4.
Man, his fall and his redemption. Man was created in the likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27) Through the original sin of man, Adam and Eve, mankind has become corrupt in its whole nature and is totally incapable of reconciling to God, apart from the work of Jesus Christ, His Son. (Romans 5:12, 17; 1 Corinthians 15:22, 45; John 3:3-7, 6:44; Ephesians 2:8)
5.  Jesus Christ, as the Son of God and Savior of all. We believe that He is fully God and fully man. (John 1:1, 20:28; Colossians 1:19, 2:9) He was the Word made flesh, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, Mary, and was perfect in nature, teaching and obedience. (Matthew 1:21, 23; Luke 1:35; John 8:29) He died on the cross as the vicarious sacrifice for all mankind, rose from the dead in His own glorified body, ascended into Heaven and will return again in glory. (John 19:33-37; Romans 4:24-25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3; 1 Peter 2:24; Acts 1:9-11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) He is the head of His body, the church, conqueror over all powers of darkness and resides at the right hand of the Father. (Colossians 1:8; 2:15; Hebrews 1:3-4)
6.  Eternal Life̶--Salvation Through Faith. The gift of God is proved solely by His grace in Jesus Christ, His Son, the only way to eternal life. (2 Corinthians 7:10; Luke 13:3; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 5:1; Acts 16:31) The turning away from sin in repentance and looking to the Son produces a born-again experience by the Holy Spirit. There is no other name given among men by which they may be saved, except Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12) Through His great redemptive act, there is forgiveness of sin, liberation from bondage to the world and freedom in His Spirit. (Ephesians 1:7; Galatians 6:14-15)

7. The Holy Spirit and His baptism. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, unites man to Jesus Christ in faith, brings about the new birth and dwells within, producing the fruit of the Spirit, enabling growth and sanctification. (John 15:8-10; 1 Corinthians 12:13; John 3:5) The Holy Spirit inspired prophets and kings in ancient times and anointed Jesus Christ for His ministry. (1 Peter 1:2, 10, 12; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Luke 4:1, 18-21) The promise of the Spirit is given to all Believers who ask. (Luke 11:13; 24:49; 1 Corinthians 12:10) The supernatural gift is evidenced by the overflowing joy and praise, and accompanied by speaking in other tongues, enabling the Believer to exercise the powers of the Holy Spirit. (acts 1:8; 2:4; 10:44-47; Hebrews 6:4-5) These gifts are given for the edification of the Body of Christ and are the manifestation of the will of God for the Church. (Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11)
8. The church is the Body of Christ to be dedicated to the worship and service of God. (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 5:23-27, 2:22) The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. The primary task of the church in all areas is to teach all nations; make disciples, bringing the Gospel to bear on every aspect of life. The ultimate mission of the church is the redemption of souls. When God transforms human nature, this then becomes the chief means of society’s transformation. (Matthew 28:19-21; II Corinthians 1:4-5) Each Believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and church to the firstborn, which are written in Heaven. (Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23)
9. Water baptism. The submersion of Believers in water identifies them with the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12) The experience is subsequent to the new birth. (Acts 8:36-39) The converts shall be baptized in the following manner: In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. (Matthew 28:19)
10. Sanctification. The Bible teaches that without holiness, no man can see the Lord. The doctrine of the sanctification is a definite, yet progressive, work of grace commencing at the time of rebirth a continuing until the consummation of salvation. (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 3:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:23) We believe sanctification is a cleansing from unrighteousness and produces Godly attributes. (1 Corinthians 1:30) We believe the carnal nature never becomes fully sanctified. (2 Corinthians 4:10) Our sanctification does not rely on our own actions only, but also the cleansing power of the Father. (Acts 10:14-15)
11. Deliverance. Deliverance has been provided through the anointed ministry of the Son and the Holy Spirit, given by the Father. (Luke 4:18; Acts 10:38) The saving acts of the Father are still available to Believers today, to free them from any distress. (Psalm 34:17-19) There is no bondage that man is subjected to from which God has not provided deliverance. With this deliverance comes a restoration to a natural state of being. (Daniel 6:26-28; Luke 13:16; Matthew 17:14-18; Galatians 6:1)
12. Divine Healing. Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God, through the prayer of faith and the laying on of hands. (Luke 10:8-9; James 5:14; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:16-17; Isaiah 54:5) It is provided by the Word of God. It is the privilege of every member of the church today. (Luke 5:12-13; Acts 5:16; Psalm 103:3; 107:20; Mark 16:18; Hebrews 6:2)
13. Resurrection of the just and the rapture. The consummation of all things includes: the visible, personal and glorious return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the translation of those alive in Christ, the judgment of the just and the unjust, the fulfillment of Christ’s kingdom in New Heaven and the New Earth. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Luke 21:36; 14:14; Revelation 1:7; Acts 1:11) The angel said,“This same Jesus shall so come in like manner.” His coming is imminent!
14. Hell and eternal retribution. The one who physically dies in his sins, without Jesus Christ, is hopelessly and eternal lost in the lake of fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repentance. (Matthew 25:41; 13:42) The lake of fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting”̶used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire̶carry the same thought and meaning of the duration of an endless existence as do these same terms when applied to the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God. (Hebrews 9:27; 6:1-2; Revelation 19:20; 20:1-15; Psalm 9:17; Deuteronomy 32:22)
15. The preaching of faith. God's spoken Word produces God-like faith in the heart and life of the Believer. (Romans 10:17) Faith gives, at first, an invisible, and later a tangible result and serves as a guide. (2 Corinthians 5:7) The faith of God produces all visible things and the measure of the same faith has been given to every Believer. (Hebrews 11:1-3; Romans 12:3) Without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6; James 1:3-4) All things are possible by faith and apart from faith all things are sin. (Mark 9:23; Romans 14:23)
16. Total Prosperity. Man can, and should, live in total prosperity during his life on Earth. 2 Corinthians 9:8-9 states, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” A form of the word “prosper”

appears over 80 times in the Old and New Testaments. In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

STATEMENT OF MARRIAGE DOCTRINE

1. God created males and females for the purpose of continuance of the human race, for the purpose of procreation. (Genesis 1:27-28)
2. God instituted marriage as the union between one man and one woman. That is the way it has been since the very beginning of mankind, and according to the Holy Scriptures, that is the way it will remain. God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him”̶so the Lord God formed a woman for Adam (a female who was comparable and compatible with him). (Genesis 2:18-24)
3. Marriage between one man and one woman is honorable. (Hebrews 13:4)
4. Marriage is between one husband and one wife (male and female). (1 Corinthians 7:2)
5. Marriage is between one man and one woman (husband and wife), and God joins them together in a intimate bond, and man should not divide it or change it. (Matthew 19:4-6)
6. Marriage is meant to be a lifelong union between a man and a woman. (Romans 7:2)
7. Marriage is a means of sexual love between one man and one woman, and no other person. (Proverbs 5:18-20
8. Marriage is a spiritual and natural union between a husband and wife, centered on Biblical principles. (Ephesians 5:22-28; 5:31-33)
9. Weddings (marriages) are worthy of Jesus’ presence. Jesus approves of marriage, and His first miracle took place at the wedding of Cana in Galilee. (John 1:1-2, 11)
10. Marriage is the Biblical institution established by God as clearly described in the scriptures. This Church recognizes that marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. Accordingly, this Church, its pastors, staff and members will not participate in same sex unions or same sex marriages, nor shall its property or resources be used for such purposes.

We believe that salvation into obedience to God brings the following:

1. Spiritual prosperity (John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Romans 10:9-10)
2. Mental prosperity. (2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 26:3)
3. Physical prosperity. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)
4. Financial prosperity. (3 John 1:2; Malachi 3:10-11; Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
5.
Social prosperity. (Proverbs 3:4)
